Depop fee questions
What does Depop charge US sellers per sale?
Nothing as a selling fee — Depop removed its 10% US commission in July 2024. The only mandatory cost is the Depop Payments processing fee of 3.3% + $0.45 per transaction.
Does Depop charge fees on shipping and sales tax?
Yes. The 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing fee is calculated on the item price plus shipping costs plus any applicable taxes collected from the buyer.
What does it cost to sell a $50 item on Depop?
With $5 buyer-paid shipping and ignoring sales tax, the processing fee is 3.3% of $55 + $0.45 — about $2.27. You keep roughly $52.73 of the $55; there is no selling commission for US sellers.
Who pays the Depop Marketplace fee?
The buyer. US buyers pay up to 5% of the item price plus a fixed amount of up to $1 at checkout, excluding taxes and shipping. Sellers are never charged this fee, but it raises the total price buyers see.
How much do Boosted Listings cost on Depop?
Boosting is free until an item sells. When a buyer who viewed your boosted listing purchases within 28 days, US sellers pay a 12% boosting fee on the item price plus any self-arranged shipping — Depop Shipping label costs are excluded.
Do I get Depop fees back if I refund a buyer?
Yes. When a sale is refunded, all fees — payment processing and any boosting fee — are automatically reversed for Depop Payments transactions.
Worth knowing before you list
- Depop's only mandatory US seller cost is the 3.3% + $0.45 processing fee — there has been no selling commission since July 2024.
- The processing fee is charged on the full amount the buyer pays including shipping and sales tax — so it runs slightly higher in practice than this calculator shows (we can't know your buyer's tax).
- US buyers pay a Marketplace fee of up to 5% + up to $1 at checkout on top of your listed price. You never see it, but your buyers do — factor it into competitive pricing.
- The 12% boosting fee triggers when a buyer merely viewed the boosted tile (no click needed) and buys within 28 days — even if you turned boosting off before the sale.
- Boosting is charged on self-arranged shipping too, but never on Depop Shipping labels — using Depop labels shrinks the boost fee base.
- If a sale is refunded, processing and boosting fees are automatically reversed.
